A profile is a story about a person or a business and can be anything from 200-2500 words in length. Depending on where they are published and the number of words, profiles can be indistinguishable from features. Often a feature is a profile.
Profiles are generally presented as human interest or informational stories and are used to promote people/businesses in a non-commercial fashion. A good profile illuminates by placing its subject in a realistic yet positive light.
Use profiles as features, newsletter pieces, website copy, as part of a prospectus, in brochures, or as newspaper copy.
Where possible I supply original photography with profiles, or relevant publishable photographic material sourced from the subject.
