Here’s a thought.  What you focus on becomes what’s true for you.

What you don’t focus on, has virtually no capacity to impact on you.  Here’s the proof.

Put a lovely apple at one end of a table, and at the other end, some other piece of fruit.  Turn your attention on the apple.

Try to smell it from where you stand.  Try to feel it’s colour.  Notice how big the stalk is, whether it bends to the right or left.  Look at how big the apple is.  How many shades of a colour does it have?  Does it sit evenly on the table or is it leaning? Give this apple you entire attention for a full minute.

Now turn your back on the table.  Tell me…what did you notice about the piece of fruit you ignored while you were concentrating on the apple?

If you were truly focused on the apple, I’m pretty certain you did not notice the other piece of fruit, much less now be in a position to describe it.  The point is, that where your focus goes, so does your power.  The other fruit did not cease to exist, but it might as well have.

Take it several steps further. I am a realist so I understand that what I’m about to say next is an idealistic point of view, but consider it deeply and you’ll see the truth of it.

If every human being on the planet (this is the idealistic part) focused only on peace, looked only for where peace was the active force, tried to find pockets of genuine peace, focused only on peace, then war would cease to exist for lack of thought fuel.  It is idealistic, but it is not impossible.  Think about it.

It is in each of our individual power to achieve. That’s the beauty of humanity. We’re so powerful when we focus our attention, but mostly we allow our focus to be directed, and so we have become, by and large, powerless.

Think about it.
